President’s Welcome |
|
Welcome to the University
of Science and Culture
It is our national
and international duty to talk about the university and the necessity for more scientific
endeavors to reach the summits of knowledge and cognition, especially at present
time when our country is at the verge of rapid scientific and technological evolution.
To reach the heights of scientific, cultural, and economic fields undoubtedly requires
a supreme effort in order to achieve knowledge and to expand the borders of science,
which is fortunately highly valued in the strategic curricula of the USC.
Our
mission, here at the USC, is to participate in the development of scientific and
educational system of our country at national and international levels, to develop
higher education at a prominent quality, to teach students, in theory and in practice,
majors in various levels of higher education in order to provide efficient, committed,
and specialized human resources.
It is also our wish to make necessary investment to expand the infrastructures in
research and education, to provide a joyful scientific atmosphere, and to make a
collective effort for the talented and enthusiastic students so that in a goal-oriented
program a desirable scientific and cultural environment is created, the result of
which would be the growth of science and technology, a genuine service to the society,
and the training of specialized and committed experts.
At present,
the USC is passing through the undergraduate course to the postgraduate programs,
developing its graduate majors at a rapid speed. Our policy is to create new majors
and interdisciplinary courses approved by the Ministry of Higher Education in Iran.
Being a member of ACECR, the USC has been able to make a wide range of relationship
with cultural centers of ACECR* which has opened up a unique opportunity for the
USC and in particular for the postgraduate students at this university.
A review of the educational activities of the USC in recent years clearly shows
that there has been acceptable growth in the quality index of its higher education.
One of the indexes for evaluating the quality of higher education is the proportion
of admitted postgraduate students to the number of undergraduate students. This
proportion shows acceptable growth at the USC.
Thanks God, the graduate students from the USC in recent
years have succeeded in obtaining admission to many postgraduate programs with high
average grades and high scores in entrance exams. Furthermore, lots of graduate
students from the USC have obtained admission to many prestigious international
schools at postgraduate programs.
Lastly, I hope that the students and the members of the board of education with
the help of the Almighty God and based on the principles of self-esteem and self-confidence,
and also by manipulating scientific achievements may bestow development and scientific
independence on our beloved country, God willing.
The Chancellor
of the University of Science and Culture
Dr. Mohammad Hossin Imani Khoshkhoo |
